What an honor it is to have been chosen for the job of Senior Pastor at such a wonderful place. I have been a member here for 42 years and consider everyone here as family. I was called to preach in February 2004 and the Church allowed me to go to Liberty University to get my bachelor's degree in Religion. I was then asked to be the Associate pastor where I have served for the past 10 years. I never imagined that God would call me to be the Pastor here, but in the last six months, God has been opening doors that way. Betty and I went to Church one Monday night after Pastor Jerry announced he was retiring and went to the altar and prayed asking God for direction. When I got up from the altar, I was 100 percent satisfied that God was in control and I was going to follow His direction. I am just awestruck that the congregation had enough confidence in me to elect me as Pastor. I promise that I will do the best I possibly can, through God's leadership and strength, to serve this congregation helping them to grow in Christ and to lead many to Him. I pray that in the upcoming days we at Mount Pleasant can reach the community and surrounding communities for Him. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for us. May God bless each one of you to the uttermost.
